What You Need to Know About Nocturnal Enuresis AKA Bedwetting

Nocturnal enuresis or bedwetting, is any involuntary leakage of urine while sleeping. Typically, those who wet overnight have at least one of the following classic features – deep sleeping with or without snoring, a family history, a large volume of urine evacuated with each episode. Bedwetting is often consistent but can be inconsistent without any identifiable factors for example, Ben was dry last night even though he drank 30 ounces of Gatorade right before bed, but was wet the night before when he strictly restricted fluid intake 3 hours before bed.

Our NPs/PAs/MDs are experts in treating enuresis. As well as ascertaining whether the enuresis is due to an underlying bladder issue that needs to be treated. Bedwetting alone is NOT strictly related to bladder size or bladder function. We have a wide variety of treatments from behavior changes, holistic methods, as well as pharmacological interventions. We know how stressful and upsetting bedwetting can be for the entire family. Call the Pediatric Urology Associates near you. We are here to help you in any way we can, including bedwetting solutions, daytime bedwetting solutions, bedwetting alarms for kids, and bedwetting therapies.
