Studied molecular genetics of CD-34 expression in B cell immortalization in Burkitt’s Lymphoma, including localization and characterization of enhancer elements and use of antisense-RNA to modulate protein expression
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania. Summers 1990-1992. Research assistant in water quality laboratory. Projects included assessing economicand environmental impact of foreign species (Zebra mussel) infestation in Ohio river basin. Also studied toxin levels in mine effluent and their effects on biodiversity in the upper Ohio River drainage basin.
