Israel Franco, M.D., F.A.C.S, F.A.A.P
 Dr. Franco joined Pediatric Urology Associates in 1991. He is an Associate Professor of Urology at New York Medical College and at St. Vincent’s.
He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his general surgery training and urology residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla. Dr. Franco did his pediatric urology fellowship training in Chicago at the Children’s Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Franco is board certified in urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the Society of Pediatric Urology, the Society of Fetal Urology, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the International Children’s Continence Society and International Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery Society.
Dr. Franco has authored numerous scientific publications and videos, with emphasis in the field of neuro-urology and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Dr. Franco has also written numerous articles and textbook chapters regarding the management of pediatric calculus (stone) disease, pediatric laparoscopy, neuro-urology and dysfunctional voiding in children. He has been involved in pediatric urologic laparoscopic surgery since its inception.
Dr. Franco has taught several courses at national meetings on laparoscopic surgery. Pediatric Urology Associates is among the most active centers for pediatric urologic laparoscopy.
Dr. Franco has been invited to be a visiting professor at major American medical schools and international convocations, and he is an editorial reviewer for several peer-reviewed medical journals. He has also served on the executive committees of several major pediatric urologic societies.
Dr. Franco is a leader in the management of pediatric voiding dysfunctions. Several recently authored articles have dictated a change in the treatment paradigm of voiding dysfunction in children.
