Dr. Franco joined Pediatric Urology Associates in 1991. He received his education at New York University and subsequently at The Albert Einstein Medical College. Dr. Franco's did his pediatric urological fellowship training in Chicago at The Children's Memorial Hospital. Dr. Franco is Associate Professor of Urology at New York Medical College and director of Pediatric Urology at Nyack Hospital.

Dr. Franco's has multiple publications in the field of neuro-urology and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Franco has written numerous articles and chapters regarding the management of pediatric calculus disease, pediatric laparoscopy, neurourology and dysfunctional voiding in children.

Dr. Franco has also had an interest in pediatric urologic laparoscopic surgery since it’s inception.  At a presentation at the American Urological Association meeting in May of 1997, the largest U.S. series of laparoscopic orchidopexies was presented with an overall success rate of 96 % compared to a success rate of 74% for open procedures these numbers continue to be the same and the laparoscopic orchidopexy experience continues to be the largest in the world from a single surgeon.

Dr Franco is actively involved in the use of robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery in children.  There are only a few centers in the country that are actively involved in this cutting edge surgery.  Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty and ureteral reimplantation are perfectly suited for such surgery.  Older children are the ones that benefit the most from these procedures since they have less pain and return to full activity within 10 days of the surgery.  Dr Franco has taught several courses on pediatric laparoscopy at national meetings.
