and nationally.

Dr. Gitlin then pursued a fellowship in pediatric  urology.  The first year
of this fellowship was spent in the basic science laboratory of Dr. Henry (T.T.) Sun.
This research focused on understanding the genetic link in patients with
vesico-ureteral reflux. This research was recently summarized and published
in Kidney International.
Abstract

Dr. Gitlin performed his clinical fellowship at the Riley Children’s Hospital
in Indianapolis, Indiana.  This intense training covered all aspects of pediatric
urology, but a special emphasis was placed on reconstructive surgery of the
bladder, kidney and penis/urethra.   Dr. Gitlin’s research on catheterizable
channels, and pregnancy in women with bladder augmentations was
presented both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Gitlin was on the faculty of  Montefiore Children’s Hospital before joining
Pediatric Urology Associates.  He is interested in all aspects of reconstructive
pediatric urology.

Dr. Gitlin is also dedicated to providing care to children in 3rd world countries.
He is a member of Heal the Children, and has participates in a yearly mission
