About PUA
Pediatric Urology Associates' founding partner, Selwyn Levitt, was one of the pioneers in the field of pediatric urology and the first urologist in the Tri-State Area to practice pediatric urology exclusively.
|
Since its inception in the 1970s, Pediatric Urology Associates has grown to become one of the largest groups of pediatric urologists in the United States, with several of its physicians holding positions as departmental chiefs at prominent medical centers in the region.
As a result of the group's national and international reputation for excellence, many of its members have been invited to lecture and instruct in the United States and other countries on the subject of pediatric urologic disorders and treatment. |
 |
Pediatric urologic problems are similar to most commonly-occurring childhood conditions. Simple undescended testis and hernias are extremely prevalent in the childhood years and affect more children than most people realize. It is in the best interest of children that these simple but, at times, complicated procedures be taken care of by someone who performs them routinely in children. Complex urologic problems, such as bladder exstrophy, hypospadias, urinary tract obstructions and abnormalities of genital development should only be handled only by physicians with specialized surgical training in the care of these problems in children. The range of services PUA offers varies from the treatment of simple bed-wetting to major reconstructive surgery.
PUA also offers wide access to its patients, with offices and surgical sites from Manhattan, Brooklyn and Long Island to Westchester and Upstate New York. |
